The top grade fabric that our t-shirts are made of just did something you’d never expect. That’s right it’s transformed into knitwear. Let’s get this straight. Your t-shirt can also be made into a killer looking knitted sweater? This is correct.
Where They From
Our cotton comes from the rich soils of Peru and are harvested completely by hand. This means our cotton remains intact and incredibly soft throughout the harvesting process. It also means that there are zero gas emissions from machinery during the harvest. Because of the growing conditions and the nature of the harvest, our Peruvian pima cotton’s fibres are twice as long as other cottons. The extra-long fibres make for super durable, long-lasting cotton. Which we’ve discovered also does a superb job in knitwear.
The Spin Says a Lot
Our t-shirts and knitwear both start from the same top notch Peruvian pima cotton; the difference comes down to their treatment. Instead of being tightly knit into a flat jersey on a circular knitting machine (like our t-shirts); our knitwear experts take the raw cotton and spin it into a yarn. The yarn is then turned into knitwear using a flatbed knitting technique.
Pima cotton knitwear can be stitched into a number of different yarns, we’ve chosen the flat smooth finish of a jersey stitch as well as the the more textured look of a honeycomb stitch. The neckline, cuff and hem are all finished with a fine rib to create the best possible fit.
Decisions Decisions Decisions
When you come across the durable and soft combination of pima cotton in knitwear, you don’t just design one great piece. You create an array of styles and colours. That’s why our new pima cotton knitwear comes in timeless colours and classic styles that have been given our signature modern touch.
