At Grana, we’re all about the finer things in life – and by that, we mean the simple and natural things, that are often overlooked or taken for granted.
Take your space for example. Whether it be your home, your creative space or your work space; your space is a place that you’re in everyday, and often a lot of thought and curation goes into building the type of space that you spend your time in, and that you’re proud to call your own.
We want to know more about your space, so… we’re sending photographer and Grana Friend, Monsieur Jerome to invade it!
Joseph is a well-known architect and developer based in SoHo, in New York City. He’s done work for bold faced names such as Ashley Olsen, Want Les Essentiels and Paris Hilton.
Welcome to his space.
Can you tell us a bit about where you’re from, and how it influenced you as a person?
I was born and raised on Eastern Long Island. Growing up there influenced me to appreciate the different seasons and styles in both fashion and home decor.
What is your definition of quality when it comes to curating your space?
My idea of quality isn’t about the most expensive or rare; it comes from the curation of a space with objects and furniture that tell a story.
What’s your favourite thing in, or about your space?
My favourite thing about my space is the high ceilings and large windows. While it is basically a small studio apartment, it feels more like a massive open space that connects the outside to the inside!
Who or what do you like to share your space with?
I love to entertain in my space! I often throw intimate dinner parties. And occasionally, I’ll host a dance off that lasts until the wee hours.
What do you love to do here?
I love Sunday mornings snuggled in bed watching CBS Sunday with my adorable boyfriend and my dogs. We order delivery and treat the morning as if we were at a luxury hotel.
How do you make a space “home”?
My objects make the space home. Every single item has a unique story behind it.
