You get Silk Cashmere. We know it’s kind of mind blowing, it’s okay if you want to sit down.
It All Makes Sense
China is the birth place of silk, so it’s naturally the place to find the experts. The city of Huzhou in the Yangtze River Delta Area is specifically known for producing the best silk in the world. It’s here where the silk yarn is crafted to be a superfine A grade material.
Our cashmere is from Inner Mongolia and due to it climate conditions, it’s also known for producing the best cashmere in the world (so with all these world winners, we should probably be enter the Fabric Olympics). In anticipation for being blended we’ve spun our cashmere into fine fibres of yarn to increase its softness and hand feel.
It’s the Small Things
We wanted to give these designs really special yet subtle style details. That’s why the cuff, neck and hem trims all have a tubular construction; this means there’s no rib and instead a smooth, almost seamless appearance. We’ve also added a stepped hem with side seam splits so there’s always room for an impromptu boogie (like when you remember you’ve got ice cream in the freezer).
Together, It’s Magic
Mixing silk and cashmere doesn’t just sound great, it is great. It’s great for a lot of reasons. One, it’s a nice way to move cashmere out of the “comfy” corner and adds lustre to the look. The fabric combination also makes for a killer drape and hand feel. Not to mention, its lightweight nature makes for a more transeasonal piece that can be layered or worn solo. Its ability to crease a really fine yarn also means you’re able to play around and add more details.
We designed incredibly luxurious yarns and craft them into sweaters with the highest of quality and of course, a fair price.fabrics / by Grana / 09.23.16
