You know what? You should totally want a sweater or bomber jacket made from recycled plastic.
After all, who doesn’t want to give the earth a helping hand these days whilst being on-trend sartorially?
Recycled polyester is an environmentally friendly alternative to virgin polyester. Virgin polyester is a synthetic polymer made of terephthalic acid (PTA). Recycled polyester on the other hand is better for the environment not only because it’s made from post-consumer plastics (things like water bottles, packaging, food containers and worn out polyester garments) but because of how it’s made. Recycling technology now allows for a closed loop manufacturing process; reusing water, creating minimal waste, consuming limited energy, and causing very little pollution.
All that results in giving you a product that’s incredibly robust with a high tenacity, yet still breathable and lightweight.
Go ahead, get your recycle on.
