So fresh and so clean, clean. A pretty catchy tune yes (thanks Outkast), but also the inspiration for one of our favourite colour additions to date, the new hue aqua.
When coming up with our new colours we often take inspiration from places and desired destinations. Yes, those are the sort of mood boards we love to create, but it’s also because we hope that when you wear one of our colours, you get a sense of those (amazing) places too. The best type of subliminal messaging.
Aqua therefore was a no-brainer. We wanted a crisp fresh colour that made you feel revitalised – much like a trip to the beach would. Naturally, aqua fitted the bill perfectly, thoughts of island escapes come to mind (see here for packing advice on the subject), crystal clear aqua seas and, of course, ombre aqua shades present in the sea life. With all this freshness, we like to think of this new hue as a colour that refreshes your senses by bringing to mind that deserted island you’ve always wanted to visit. Perfect when you’re knee deep in winter and in need of a pick me up.
The best thing about aqua? It works as a highlight colour in both lighter (think white and camel) and darker (navy and black are perfect) toned outfits, making it the ideal wardrobe update to wear in both summer and winter. So regardless of whether you’re knee deep in sand or snow, chances are a little bit of freshness is just what you need. As they all say, change is as good as a holiday!
