The word poplin is said to originate from “papelino”- a fabric made in the papal town of Avignon in France in the 15th century. In France we found a family-run mill that has been making poplin for over 160 years, recognised as experts in weaving and dyeing.
Light Yet Strong
Light enough for everyday wear, and tough enough to stand it, our poplin makes the perfect shirt.
Comfortable Yet Elegant
Our simple plain weave creates a soft, breathable fabric with an elegant lustre and great drape.
No need for special treatment, these shirts can take machine washing and drying. The plain weave means a fabric that is easy to iron and which doesn’t crease easily, staying crisp whatever you’re doing.
The Making Of
Turning the best French poplin into the best shirts in the world.
Spinning & Weaving
Spun to exacting standards, then woven on dornier looms, our poplin has a tight-weave construction for extra strength and an even texture.
Our understated designs may look simple, but getting them perfect didn’t come easy. Many hours and a lot of love are put in to make sure every piece is modern, stylish and versatile.
Cutting & Sewing
Working with our factory who are experts in shirting, all our patterns are carefully adjusted to allow for the shrinkage that will happen in the wash after the shirt is sewn.
Our shirts are repeatedly washed for a soft, lived-in feel, giving you the perfect blend of polish and comfort.
